An Evening with John Swannell

7:30pm – 9:30pm. Thursday, 18th September 2008, Swavesey Village College

swannell.jpgJohn Swannell, the legendary fashion and celebrity photographer talks about his extraordinary life in pictures, from his subtly lit portraits of the British monarchy and celebrities to his classically composed nudes and distinctive panoramic landscapes.

John Swannell’s reputation as one of the biggest names in British photography is no accident. His consistently inventive work and unerring professionalism have kept him in demand by press and public for over 35 years.

In 1993 John Swannell was awarded a Fellowship of The Royal Photographic Society; he was one of the youngest members to have achieved this status at the time.

The National Portrait Gallery, London has over fifty of his photographs, and his work is represented in the permanent collections of the V&A, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, The Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Royal Photographic Society.
