An opportunity to see what is lined up in the programme for this year, plus an insight into what some of the members have been up to in the summer…

Judge: Wes Gibbon The subject for our first set subject competition is “Red” and this will be a projected digital image entry. Max 3 images, each less than 2 years old.
John Procter’s talk will be based on travel in the High Arctic and the Southern Ocean. The sea journey in the north included a transit of the North West Passage from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean and a circumnavigation of Baffin Island. His trip to the south included the East and West Falklands, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula. Highlighted will be some of the contrasts between journeys in these opposite ends of the planet and the opportunities and issues which the photographer is presented with.
In this talk, Peter Lovelock will give you a better understanding of what colour management is and why it is so important in today’s digital photography environment. You will be guided through the colour management workflow process, with advice on settings, equipment and why images may not be appearing as expected between devices. We will briefly look at image capture, monitors/projectors, printers, software settings and the theory behind the “art”. Once concluded, you will be in a much better position to achieve more consistent results, getting what you expect from input to output.
